San Luis' Fauna Introduction

San Luis' Fauna Introduction.
http://www.globalpc.net/angadiwebnl/images/collage2.jpg
Fauna is all of the animal life of any particular region or time.
In other words, we can say that Fauna is completely specific for one region or time and it's really important (as Flora) for the environment because it contributes to the balance of the ecosystem. So if the environment loses a lot of animals and plants there are fewer to contribute to individual ecosystems and more ecosystems are damaged and the negative effects are greater in Earth's environment. So before starting the activities. It is important for you to know how important Flora and Fauna are in order to start protecting them.

Go to San Luis' Fauna Activity 1 to start with the activities of this topic

SAN LUIS' FAUNA ACTIVITY 1

Now that we know more about what is fauna and its importance let's work together in a practical activity.
In this activity, you will have to elaborate a datasheet with an animal of your interest and you have to complete this datasheet with the following information:
  • Animal's name (how is this animal called)
  • Size (if it is small, large, medium or big)
  • Habitat (Where does this animal live)
  • Its family (The scientific family this animal belongs)
  • What kind of skin it has (if it has plumage, feathers, just skin or fur)
  • Its onomatopoeia (if it has onomatopoeia or not)
  • Its alimentation (if it is carnivore, herbivore or omnivore)
  • Specific characteristics of that animal (as udder, claws, night vision, etc)
If you want to add extra information it is ok.
You can organize the information in the way you most like, try to be as much creative as you can, here is an example:
This is an example of the kind of datasheet you can make. It is a chart that contains the information.

Here are some steps you can follow if you don't know how to start your datasheet:
1.- Choose an animal (It has to be an animal that you like)
In this document, you will find a San Luis' Fauna Selection that I made for you in order to help you because Fauna is a very wide topic and there are a lot of animals. San Luis' Fauna Document Selection
2.- Think how you will organize the information. Remember that is your datasheet and you can elaborate it as you want. (Be creative!)
3.- Think of the colours and the font you will use. You can use your computer or collage for your datasheet. Remember that you won't do it in class time.
4.- If you want to add extra information about your animal, see this PowerPoint Presentation.

SAN LUIS' FAUNA ACTIVITY 2
This is a very important activity because it involves the listening skill that is as important as the speaking skill both are involved in the communication process but also both skills are involved in this activity. If you are able to understand English sounds you are able to produce them, So let's start working and practicing these skills.
In this activity, we are going to work with an audio about San Luis' Fauna so listen to it carefully in order to understand it completely and then do correctly the activities.
